Vacation on the Desna River
A place where the river Sudost unloads itself into the river Desna.

My husband and I spent a three-week vacation on the Desna River in Chernihiv Oblast. It was in July of 2010. I took a lot of photos of this quiet river with pure waters.
How does Desna look like? A very tortuous river-course, numerous straits and oxbow lakes, vast meadows, isolated old trees and the dense bush.
This river serpentines through the valley which is on a major migration route for many European birds. Moreover, this area is very favorable for local species (there are a great number of them here) because it has preserved almost intact since the last glacial period.
